Rural Thefts: Parish Council action

Following the recent spate of thefts in East Horrington, Easton and Rookery Farm, the Parish Council on Monday unanimously agreed to write to the Assistant Chief Commissioner for Avon & Somerset Police.

The Parish Council are acutely aware of the distress theft causes and that resident anxiety is rising; we have pressed the ACC for some crucial answers as well as hoping to understand rural policing strategies further.

As ever, if residents see anything suspicious, you really must report it please, and assist the police with intelligence as early and consistently as possible. The online reporting form can be found here; if you are unable to use online forms, please do call 07496 198032 and the Clerk team will do their best to help.

The letter to ACC J Cummins can be read in full here. A copy has been sent to Tessa Munt MP, Clare Moody PCC and Sarah Dyke, MP for our neighbouring constituency facing similar worries.
