About Celia

I live at Wookey Hole Road, Wells with my daughter, Sarah. I am a retired Police Officer, having served in uniform, on the Vice Squad, Drugs Squad and Headquarters C.I.D. and then ran my husband's liquor licensing business for several years, following his untimely death.

I moved from Bath to Weymouth when my daughter went to university, and I wanted to be near my sister. I worked at the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum as the Assistant Museum Manager for four years, before returning to Wells. I had previously lived for many years, at Bishop Sutton in the Chew Valley and knew this area well. I love the countryside and I have been back now for about 9 years.

I was a Wells City Councillor from 2015 for 5 and a half years, and served on all the committees, and was the Chair of Planning and of Staffing. In 2018/2019 I was the Mayor, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

My obsessions are litter, speeding, Planning/CIL/Section 106 monies and parking. I have organized Wells wide litter picks for the last 4 years, though I am stepping down after the next one in September to start new projects. I will still volunteer but not organise!

I have concerns that the forthcoming changes to be made to the planning system which may affect the parish a great deal, together with the Unitary Authority changes in the future.

I like sewing, gardening, upholstering, collecting books and antiques and Prosecco!

I am proud to represent the parishioners of St. Cuthbert Out.
